I’m Twittering

Twitter logoI just signed up for Twitter yesterday.

Now, I know I’m at risk of sounding awfully backward here but I never heard of Twitter until about two weeks ago and even then I didn’t know what it was. I’m afraid I’m still catching up with the whole Web 2.0 thing.

Custom-Writing.org Writing Assistance

There’s no point beating about the bush. At some point or other any student who has had to turn in an essay to a deadline and been stuck with a little writers block has been tempted with the idea of getting someone else to do it for them. In times past their ability to do this would have been hampered by the circle of people they knew. But in this modern age it is now possible to buy an essay over the Internet from someone you never met.

Stay away from domain name speculation

I have a few domain names that I registered a couple of months ago when I was thinking about getting involved in ‘Domaining’. This is speculating in domain names, which basically involves finding and registering good domain names and re-selling them for a profit.

The most valuable domain names are usually .coms. The next after that are .net and the rest are pretty far behind that. It is pretty safe to say that all of the good, valuable .com domain names are already taken (along with most of the worthless ones as well).

Smorty.com, a nice blog advertising site

I only heard about the blog advertising Smorty.com for the first time last night. I applied for it immediately and I was accepted today. I’m new to sponsored posts but so far I find them a great way to get paid for blogging.

One great thing about Smorty is that when you log in you are able to reserve whatever opportunities that are on offer to you. Once you reserve the opportunity you then have 72 hours to submit the review.

Cleaning up the blogosphere

I did my bit to clean up the blogosphere last night when I was searching for bonsai blogs on technorati.com. I was looking for blogs which were similar to my bonsai3.net blog and hoping to build some links and bring some more traffic in.

I did find some good sites there but I also came across one site in particular which just annoyed me. I was annoyed because when I looked at it’s profile in Technorati it seemed to be the type of blog that I was apiring bonsai3.net to be. It’s ranking is 267,853 and it has an authority of 24, which is the highest of all the bonsai blogs. My ranking on the other hand is, 2,515,283 with authority of 2.

Five minute installation? Wah, hah, hah, hah, hah ha! Wahh, hah, hah, hah, hah ha,

It’s always good to do some research before you jump into things. I know this. I often give this advice to other people. One day I may heed it myself.

There on Tuesday night I was hit with the inspiration to register a domain name and set up web-space for my bonsai blog. The inspiration struck when I thought of a good domain name for my site; bonsai3.net. I think it’s good anyway but I should leave that to the bonsai-reading public to decide.

I went to a service provider I’ve used in the past so setting up the domain and web-space went smoothly. By Wednesday it was set up and I was ready to start work on my site. (more…)

Should you quit your day job to blog?

It is a tempting idea. I’ll have to resist it for now though. So far my landlord is stubbornly refusing to accept blog entries as payment and insists on money. I find the same old-fashioned attitudes all around me: grocery and clothes shops, all types of services and utilities, each one looking for currency or at least the promise of it in installments.

I think it is beyond most bloggers reasonable expectations to make very much from this type of thing. There are more people out in the world trying to make an easy living than there are people willing to provide it to them and lottery winners are thin on the ground.
